From insulin and other biomedicines to new sources of fibers and dyes, biomanufacturing will play an integral role in a sustainable future.

SoundBio Lab has partnered with Shoreline Community College (SCC) to introduce a 7-week course that provides students with an exciting introduction to the world of biomanufacturing, imparting essential knowledge and skills to be competitive in this emerging job market.

Sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from June 10 until July 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The session on June 17 will be a career panel, and the session on July 8 will be a tour of Shoreline Community College’s Biomanufacturing facilities from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

YOU WILL

  • Culture genetically-modified bacterial factories.

  • Verify DNA construct design using PCR and gel electrophoresis.

  • Purify protein using both lab-scale and industry-scale techniques.

  • Gain insight from biomanufacturing professionals and Shoreline Community College alumni.
