What if you could grow your own bio-leather, paint with microbes, turn milk into bioplastic, and sculpt with fungi?
In this hands-on course, you’ll explore the weird and wonderful world of bio-art, where biology becomes both your material and your creative toolkit. Grow kombucha bacterial cellulose into bio-leather, extract brilliant colors from plants and microbes, make pH-responsive art, transform milk proteins into moldable bioplastic, print patterns with biological enzymes, and create sustainable sculptures out of mycelium.
Over four weeks, you’ll grow, extract, shape, and transform biological materials into art while learning the science that makes each process possible. Come play at the intersection of biology, creativity, and sustainable design, and see what happens when the lab becomes your studio.
Sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings from September 16 through October 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Beginners welcome! No prior experience required.
